Assembly of Representatives 2006/2010
The Assembly of Representatives began its term of office on 1 February 2006 and comprises:
- Sixteen representatives of teaching and research staff;
- Sixteen representatives of students;
- Eight representatives of higher technical, technical, technical-professional, administrative, worker and auxiliary staff;
- Six external illustrious individuals invited under of paragraph 2 of article 18 of the FEUP Statutes who exercise their activity in important organizations, namely those who are involved in scientific, technical or cultural activities, or in financing teaching and research and development activities in engineering and related fields.
The Assembly of Representatives has the following duties and powers:
To formulate and review proposals about the direction and development of the School;
To discuss and approve changes to the current Statutes, submitting them for the approval of the UP Rector;
To draw up and revise its regulations;
To draw up and revise its electoral regulations;
To draw up and revise the regulations for the election of the Dean of Faculty;
To elect and dismiss the Dean of Faculty. This dismissal must be approved by two thirds of the full members of the Assembly;
To ratify the formation of the Faculty Board, proposed by the Dean of Faculty;
To review and approve the Plan of Activities of the Faculty Board and the draft Budget Plan;
To review and approve the Strategic Plan, drawn up by the Faculty Board;
To generally supervise the actions of the Faculty Board, respecting the actual exercise of the Board's duties.
